NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Apple Computer Inc. may have a 3%
desktop market share, but the company's products are increasingly
moving beyond offices and desktops and into living rooms, kitchens,
bedrooms and cars.
Apple's (AAPL) success
poses a big threat to the entire consumer electronics and computer
sectors. But can these industries really take a bite out of Apple?

Protecting kids from adult spam
Lawmakers in Utah and Michigan have moved aggressively to shield
children from spam promoting pornography, alcohol and other
adults-only products. The states have created registries of kids'
email addresses and bar businesses, in and out of state, from
sending inappropriate sales pitches to minors.
But the laws, enacted last year, face mounting opposition from a
wide range of groups -- including a legal challenge from a trade
group representing the adult-entertainment industry. David
Kesmodel has more.
Cigar renaissance
Remember the cigar boom of the 1990s? Cigar makers say the
interest is back. Final numbers for 2005 are not in yet, but they're
projected to be up almost 10% compared with the year before, to a
level last seen in 1998. The USDA estimates that the number of
cigars consumed to be close to 5 billion.
Paul Lin sat down with Dennis Briganti, president of C-F
Dominicana Cigars, to see how renewed interest is impacting his
fledgling cigar-catering business.
